Once registered, you may take advantage of discounted hotel and travel options using the MLA Web site. The 2009 MLA Convention Program is now available online to MLA members and nonmembers. The Program is searchable by participant, subject, meeting type, and keyword.

2009 MLA Elections—Now Online
We have prepared an electronic version of the annual MLA election ballot for use in this year's elections for second vice president, the Executive Council, the Delegate Assembly, and the division executive committees. For the first time, members who are eligible to vote will be able to do so online and review candidate information simply by clicking on a candidate’s name.
Click here to enter the balloting system. Please note that you do not have to complete the ballot in one session but may exit the system and return as many times as necessary to finish voting. You must, however, submit your ballot before midnight (EST) on 10 December.
2010 Membership Enrollment Now Open
Members can log in to renew their association membership for the 2010 calendar year. Nonmembers can join the association for 2010, and former members can reinstate their membership. What your dues support
All 2009 MLA members are encouraged to cast their votes on this year’s ratification ballot, which covers two actions taken by the 2008 Delegate Assembly. Please click here to access the ratification ballot. The deadline for submitting a ratification ballot is 12:00 midnight (EST) on 10 December.
The MLA Survey of Course Enrollments in Languages Other Than English, Fall 2009
The survey of language course enrollments for fall 2009 is now under way. Directors of institutional research, registrars, and deans of enrollment may submit data here.

The kit includes two MLA reports published in December 2008: "Education in the Balance: A Report on the Academic Workforce in English" and "Demography of the Faculty: A Statistical Portrait of English and Foreign Languages."
The MLA Language Map and its Data Center provide information about more than 47,000,000 people in the United States who speak languages other than English at home.
The Data Center now includes information from the 2005 American Community Survey, allowing for comparison between 2005 and 2000 data for 30 languages at national, regional, and state levels.
